• Types and Symptoms of Lupus


    Most of you are familiar with diseases caused due to hypo-activeness of the human immune system, in which the immune system becomes less active and as a result starts aiding in affecting specific body systems and parts. But, Lupus erythematosus is an uncommon disease caused due to hyperactivity of the immune system. It is described as an anthology of autoimmune diseases, in which the immune system becomes hyperactive and as a result starts attacking healthy and normal body systems. Some of the body systems that get affected due to lupus are kidneys, lungs, heart, joints, skin and body cells. The immune system of the person suffering from Lupus fails to differentiate between healthy body tissues and other unhealthy viruses and bacteria.

    There are generally four types of Lupus namely neonatal, drug-induced, discoid and systemic, of which the latter being the most common and dreadful. There are also a few sub-types of Lupus that fall under each type. But however, both types and sub-types can be diagnosed with similar symptoms. Lupus symptoms are difficult to identify at an early stage as they are progressive in nature. This is the reason why most of the lupus symptoms are diagnosed at later stages.
    People with lupus symptoms feel less comfortable when left undiagnosed. At the same time, the symptoms are not dreadful if they are treated with medication, but however, they tend to reduce the ability of a person suffering from performing daily routines. You should also know that, symptoms of lupus vary from person to person. For people in the early stages of the disease, the symptoms are difficult to be noticed and for people in the final stages, the symptoms become worse and sometimes dreadful if left untreated.
    So, early and proper diagnosis of various symptoms is crucial to the treatment of lupus. And also identifying the causes for symptoms forms a crucial part in helping the lupus patients lead a normal life in spite of persisting with the disease.
