• Top Hair Removal Myths Busted

There are way too many hair removal tools, products and treatments in the market right now trying to lure you that theirs is the best. Getting rid of unwanted hair has been a concern for many people especially for women. This is why most women, as well as men, try various treatments and products in the market today in the hopes of being hair free for a long time. But before you decide on trying a product or a treatment, it's important to know some of the common myths of hair removal. With this, let me share to you some of the top hair removal myths. Here are some of them.
Myth 1. Laser gives permanent results.
Laser gives long lasting results, but not permanent results. Some of the hair will grow back between treatments, and you'll still need maintenance treatments after the initial protocol.
Myth 2. Shaving hair makes it grow coarser.
Your mother may have told you this when you were a teenager to prevent you from shaving. Shaving hair won't make your hair grow thicker and coarser. However, shaving cuts the hair at a blunt angle so it may seem that the hairs look thicker.
Myth 3. You don't have to exfoliate prior to waxing.

Waxing does not replace exfoliating. Waxing may exfoliate the first layer of skin, however, it is still important to exfoliate prior to waxing or any hair removal method to prevent bumps and ingrown hairs.
Myth 4. Waxing can change the color of your skin.
Waxing exfoliates the top layer of the skin, making it sensitive to the sun. So if you expose your skin to the sun after waxing then it can affect the color of your skin. But the myth that the actual process of waxing can change the pigmentation of your skin is not true.
Myth 5. Don't tweeze above your eyebrows.
Again, your mother might may have told you not to tweeze above your eyebrows because you'll just end up growing more hair. This is not true. The hairs above our eyebrows grow out of hair follicles, and hair follicles do not multiply.
Myth 6. Laser hair removal is better than electrolysis.
Laser and electrolysis are actually very similar as they both destroy the "seed" of the hair, thereby making the skin unable to grow hair. However, laser only works well on dark hair while electrolysis work well on any types and colors of hair be it light or dark.
