• A Bald-Faced Fact

The complexities of being successful in the fast-paced business environment of modern America are legion. While the more time you spend at the office, the more successful you'll be is a truism that goes fairly far up the corporate ladder, there's obviously a point of diminishing returns. If you spend so much time there that you aren't sleeping enough and aren't at your sharpest, it's obviously not an optimal arrangement. The same goes for grooming-you need to make sure you have time in your day to take care of your appearance, as this is statistically a huge factor in how your superiors see you.
For men, this is usually a fairly simple routine; shower, shave, brush teeth, get out the door. Women, however, are held to a higher standard of acceptable grooming amounts, and it's hard for a woman in the modern world to make time for all the rituals society demands of her. While it would be best to abolish this tempered-steel double standard, the world is what it is, and that means it's time to talk solutions. One of the biggest
expectations women face that men do not is that they should have the perfect amount of hair, usually including only the top of the head and a small amount of eyebrows. This ridiculous ideal eats up a lot of time in a woman's day and, especially in big cities like Chicago or Los Angeles where grooming is a sign of success, can be an important part of her social life as well. This is where laser hair removal comes in.
This may seem a bit drastic to some people, jumping straight to lasers because having unsightly hair is a bit too inconvenient, but it's not as ridiculous as it sounds. Women spend more time shaving on average than men do, despite not having an overabundance of facial hair. This is because while most men can get away with having a bit of facial hair, women generally cannot. Laser hair removal takes all the time and energy spent shaving, plucking, and tweezing and jams it into a few sessions you can schedule over a few weeks. Furthermore, laser hair removal is much longer lasting than shaving-the mayo clinic estimates it only takes 6-8 sessions for someone to actually start seeing true, permanent hair removal in some of the problem areas like the eyebrows and the upper lip.
Laser hair removal is nothing new; it's been around for a few years now, it's just an especially relevant time to talk about it. While we can lament the double standard of gender beauty all we'd like, it's unlikely to help in these immediately trying economic times. You can find technicians pretty much anywhere, from big towns like Chicago, IL to small towns like Greeley, CO. Sessions are fairly inexpensive for the money you'll save on razors in the long run; why not give it a shot?
